Make a Wish

Hi everyone! I hope you're having a dandy week. :)

Today, I have another GDT card for i {heart} papers. I've been dying to use my new Storybook stamps, which are available at IHP. The stamps were designed by my friend Heather Campbell, and I think she knocked it out of the park! They are such sweet designs. :)

Here's my card:

Make a Wish

I stamped, colored, and die-cut the duck and butterfly using the Storybook stamps and dies (thanks Heather!). It took me pretty much forever to come up with the design...I must have nudged those papers 100 times. ;)

I used the WPlus9 Pinking Squares Die on the bottom of the My Mind's Eye striped paper. The pretty floral is from BasicGrey's Fresh Cut collection. On the vellum, I used the Paper Smooches Borders 2 die for a scallop. Here's a close-up:

Make a Wish

The sentiment is from the Storybook set. I stamped it on a label from the MME Izzy paper and fussy cut the label from a larger sheet.

For the clustering at the top, I dripped too much mist on the heart. Oops! Usually I'm pretty haphazard with my misting and am okay with the randomness, but these splotches looked bad. :( To cover them up, I die-cut a Paper Smooches Stars heart and put the negative on the top. Yeah for saving the project! Wa hoo!

Here's a close-up:

I'm linking the card up to the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes Challenge!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Shake Your Love

Hi everyone! Is anyone else singing the Debbie Gibson song in the title? hee hee

I wanted to join in the Sequin Shaker Blog Hop and share a project I made for i {heart} papers. I pretty much stink at shaker cards, but I figured it's all for fun, right? :)

Here's what I made:

Shaker Love

I've only made shakers that pop up, but I was inspired by how Julie Ebersole sewed around the border of her shaker card HERE. I sewed around three sides of the Crate paper and acetate. I filled the pocket with a mix of Theresa Collins, Lawn Fawn, and sequins from my stash as well as vellum "LOVE" die-cuts.

For the top, I layered more papers and used the negative portion of the LOVE from Avery Elle's Words Fill in the Blank Dies. For adhering the letters before I stitched, I used a glue pen--I like that it does't muck up my sewing machine needle. :) Here's a close-up:

Shaker Love

If you'd like to join in the Sequin Shaker Hop, you can check it out HERE.

I hope your weekend is off to a good start. :) My husband and I are going out on a date night tonight for our 14th anniversary (this past week). Yeah!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

Guesting with Winnie + Walter Part 2

Hi everyone! Woo hoo! It's Friday. Thank goodness. LOL! Any plans for the weekend?

I'm guesting with Winnie + Walter again today. Yeah! :)  The more I use the stamps, the more I love them. All of the stamps coordinate well together--got to love that! You can check out my guest post on the Winnie + Walter blog.

Here's what I came up with for today:

Congrats--You Rock

I used the Winnie + Walter The Big, the Bold, and You cutting files to die-cut the "congrats." I love the handwritten sentiments in the stamp set and cutting files! I finished the sentiment by stamping the "you" and "rock" from The Big, the Bold, and You stamp set.

I layered the panel over some Highline papers and added a few die-cuts and a transparency from the same collection. I thought the card needed one more element, so I die-cut the branch from the Leave it to Mom cutting files out of vellum. Here's a close-up:

Congrats--You Rock

Did you see that there's a Hip on Handwriting Challenge at the Moxie Fab World? I'm linking up. The challenge runs for a couple of weeks, so you have time to play along. :)

Thanks again to Shay and Julie at Winnie + Walter for having me guest. They are the nicest, funniest, and most supportive people. :)

Have a great weekend. Thank you so much for stopping by!

A Paper Smooches Hello

Hi everyone! I have a bit of news to share.

A while back, I got a message from Kim at Paper Smooches asking if I'd like to join the Stamp Team. Ack!! YES!! I love Kim and love her stamps--I'm thrilled to be joining the team! I'm a lucky girl. :) You can see the announcement HERE.

I made a little card for the occasion:

Hello

I'm guesting with i {heart} papers this month, and I used a bunch of products from the store. They have so many stamps and dies! I started with by stamping the "hello" from the Bold Buzzwords set onto one of the Plus One journaling cards from the paper pad. I layered it over some other papers from the collection.

For the die-cuts, I used an arrow from Paper Smooches' Cardbooking Dies, a little heart from the Hearts Dies, and a notebook edge from Borders 2. For the star, I used the Stars Dies and stamped the cute star from Seeing Stars. Phew! That's a lot of PS. :)

Here's a close-up:

Guesting with Winnie + Walter

Hi everyone! I hope you're having a great week. I *finally* got a big work report submitted at the end of last week. I had been working on it for about six months, and the last few weeks have had some very late nights (you know it's bad when you fall asleep in the middle of typing a sentence--ha ha). It's going to be a busy week on the blog, and I hope you'll check it out. :)

Today and Friday I'm guesting with the awesome stamp company Winnie + Walter. Yeah! You can check out the Winnie + Walter blog HERE. I'm featuring stamps from their second release--four fab stamp sets and matching cut files.

Here's what I came up with:

Mom

I really worked with the Webster's Pages papers to make this card. I stamped the "MOM" from the Leave It to Mom set. This set is great for Mother's Day, and they are not just for moms. :)

I used the Leave It to Mom Cut Files to cut out the leaves and flowers. I stamped the three sizes of flowers from the Leave It to Mom set on some of the blank cuts. I also stamped the leaves in blue.

Here's a close-up:

Mom Close-Up

After I finished all of the pieces, I punched holes and threaded them loosely on the cord. Aren't those flower and leaf stamps pretty?

Thanks to Shay and Julie at W+W for having me. They are so cool and generous and sweet...love them and love their stamps!

Member Spotlight + A Winner!

Hi everyone! Happy Monday! I've been pretty much crushed with work lately, but I have some exciting news to share.

Kelly Noel at Studio Calico asked me if I would be the Member Spotlight for May. Really? Eek!!!!! I was very honored to get asked!! I'm such a fan of Kelly, too, so it was extra-amazing to get asked by her. :) You can check out the post on the Studio Calico blog HERE.

I thought I would share one of the cards here.

Happy Girl

I used the Studio Calico Sugar Rush Project Life and Card Kits, the Sugar Rush Patterned Paper Pad, and one of the digital brushes from the Office Hours collection. I started by tracing the digital "Hello/heart" stamp in the Silhouette Designer Program and die-cutting it on my Cameo. I die-cut a similarly-sized circle out of a Project Life card to back the sentiment.

For the background, I did a little watercoloring and then started layering. I fussy cut the heart from one of the October Afternoon papers and die-cut the postage stamp from one of the journaling cards. Here's a close-up:

Happy Girl

For the upper clustering, I fussy cut the "Happy Girl" element from the paper and layered it over a die-cut PL card. I added one of the cool chevron chipboard pieces and a little stitching:

Happy Girl

Thanks so much for stopping by. If you get a chance, please leave a little love on the Studio Calico blog post. Thank you!!

I still have not posted the winner from the Altenew blog hop. Sorry, but congrats to Michelle Lupton

I'm swooning over your vellum flowers - so gorgeous!!

Altenew Blog Hop

Hi everyone! Welcome to the Altenew premier blog hop!

Altenew is the latest stamp company to open its doors to the paper crafting community. The stamps that you will see here will be available for purchase on April 7th (that's this Monday--woot!). You should be coming from Jennifer's blog.

I'm sharing two sets today, the Magnolia and the Figure Effects. First up is the Magnolia:

Flower Congrats

I used two of the flowers from the Magnolia set and a sentiment from the set. I stamped the flowers on some new Webster's Pages' Our Travels vellum. The background has some simple watercoloring with mists.

Here are some close-ups:

Flower Congrats

Yep, pretty much swooning over the flowers. The background patterned paper is from the same Our Travels collection.

Flower Congrats

Next, I made a smaller layout using the Magnolia set and also the super cool Figure Effects set:

You Make Me Happy

I've been liking making Handbook-sized layouts (6"x8")--I got the idea from Emma_KW (what a cool idea, no?). They seem less daunting as a card maker and I like that the albums are smaller.

I stamped the magnolia on linen vellum. All of the sentiments are from the Figure Effects set. I'm going to be using this set constantly--the sentiments are fantastic (and in a good font).

You Make Me Happy

Aren't they the perfect typewriter font? Here's a close-up of the flower from the Magnolia set:

You Make Me Happy

Hi From Me to You

Hi everyone! Are you having crazy weather like we are? It was 70 degrees today and tonight is a low of 18 with snow. Forget spring--I'm ready for summer. :)

I'm excited to share a guest post today. For April and May, I'll be guesting with i {heart} papers! The online store has tons of stamps, dies, and other supplies. I love how they have so many brands of stamps, and really current supplies. Plus, there is free shipping over $70--woo hoo!

I made a card using supplies from the store:

Hi From Me to You

I was flipping through the fab BasicGrey Capture paper and saw the different "hey" sentiments on one of the papers. I loved it and had to use it! I cut up the papers and die-cut some frames out of the Capture papers using one of the My Favorite Things Polaroids die. I also die-cut a Paper Smooches arrow and heart--the heart was cut from a Spice Market paper. The Cardbooking die set is one of my faves!

I layered some of the Capture papers and added splatter and stitching. The cool sentiment is from Technique Tuesday's Rah Rah Sentiments set. Here's a close-up of the sentiment:

Hi From Me to You

I finished the card with a couple of embellishments--a Lawn Fawn sequin, and some Studio Calico enamel dots.

Here's a close-up of the top:
